Waterloo Falls is a 35 foot waterfall located about 15 minutes north of Cookeville. It is a little tricky to find, but it is worth the effort. The top of the waterfall is right next to the parking area. In fact, you can hear the waterfall as soon as you get out of your car. Please note that you will not see Waterloo Falls from the parking lot. It is down below road level.
There are no signs pointing toward Waterloo Falls, but it is easy to get to. Once you park your car, go to your right and you’ll see a path that will lead you to the top of Waterloo Falls.
You can venture down the path a little ways, which runs along the side of the waterfall. However, the path is undefined/unmaintained. I went a little ways down until there was a large drop/step down. I didn’t try to venture any further as I was uncertain if I could get back up once I got down. You return to the parking area the same way you came.
Upper Waterloo Falls is also accessible from the same parking area. While it is only 5 feet tall, it is very wide. To get to Upper Waterloo Falls go toward the back of the parking area and head east on the dirt road, which follows Spring Creek. The road forks many times so always pick the way that is closest to the creek. This path will dead-end into Upper Waterloo Falls in about 0.25 miles. Return to the parking area the way you came.
